May glory, honour, and praise be to our God the sovereign Lord, for He alone is the Lord of the years. Give thanks to the Him who has brought us out of darkness into His marvellous light.
Looking back, in the past year, I made a lot of mistakes and had a lot of misdeeds before the Lord, from whom I need His forgiveness so that I may stand and live. Most of these misdeeds I could have avoided by following His word and obeying His commandments, but, in fact, I followed my own heart and desires instead, which I need the continuous cleansing power of the Lord Jesus Christ till I see Him face to face. Indeed, our Lord is so gracious and faithful to us, His covenant people, as the Bible says “while we were sinners, Christ died for us.” This indescribable greatness of God leads us, His beloved ones, to the wonder of His grace and love. What can we do to respond to this great love of God?
From time to time, we Christians ought to ask ourselves this question, because His grace for us is beyond our limited knowledge and insufficient expectation, and expounding our realisation of it in our own daily experience of Himself, that, therefore, our answer would be and should be different from time to time, in a positive way. We would rely on God more than ourselves, knowing that He is the One who gave us lives, and that we are bought by the precious blood of the Lamb for His glory.
Looking forward, praying that I will be a faithful instrument to bring more glory and honour to His name, and that He would cause His face to shine upon me and be gracious to me, I’m so thankful and joyful for such a great God who is also my Saviour. I’m sure this new year I will experience more grace and love from the Lord, and have more certainty of knowing His plan for me.
Numbers 6:24-26
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
